Customer stage of awareness… Some rules…

One of the biggest problem in copywriting is that the audience is not targeted so well for offer. You should understand that no one would buy your product if you copy or ad is not suitable for his problems or needs.

Second, the biggest mistake of copywriter is the fact that his copy or ad is not on the same level of awareness of the customer at which he is.

This level will show to copywriter how to connect to his audience. It can answer to some questions: Is this copy long enough, or educate well or sell well etc.?

From these levels, you know the level of knowledge of audience. In addition, you know how to build own credibility.

In simple way, it is the awareness level of the problem means. And how they are educated about solutions that are on the market.

If you know the stage of awareness of own readers than you can build the sales letter or offer in order to bring them to sells or to do something. In other words how they are ready and able to buy.

There are four levels of awareness:

O – They are Oblivious

They do not know about their problem and how your offer could deal with it.

In this level, you should educate them about the problem. You can lose them if you will push them to fast and hard with your solution, because the even do not know if they have this potential problem.

This mean that your copy or offer is too short or too persistently for them.

A – They are Apathetic.

They really know that they have a problem but they do not know any solution. This problem in not so important and they don’t care about it.

You need to show them how this problem can hurt them and make it more real, vivid. You need to increase their pain by showing that wounds can open and they won’t stop bleeding so easily.

You should create in copy strong desire and remember inaction kill sales, so push them to action.

T – They are Thinking.

They know all about own problems and that there is some solutions on market, but they don’t know about your solution. They are searching and buying product that will solve their problems, but they can’t find exactly you and of course only you think about them and theirs problems.

They think about problems and looking for good solution, so you do not need to sell too much on the problems and the solution.

However, you must sell you solution by explaining: Why is it good solution to them? Why your offer and solution are unique, valuable for them?

Remember, build value in your proposition.

H – They are Hurting.

They are desperate on this stage, they know all about these problems and solution on the market (may be even know about your solution), but for some reason they do not buy your solution.

For some reasons they do not go ahead (may be do not know how or why now) or they abought before unsuccessful solution that did not work well or even absolutely and know they afraid.

Know you should stop and think Why haven’t they bought yet? What is stopping them? What objections and answers do they have?

You do not need here to educate them a lot. However, you must increase proof and give more information why your solution is better. Then you mast sell them your product. Build strong your credibility.

You need to remove all fears from decision (fear of unknown, fear to make bad decision, fear of buying etc.) Learn everything about them: why they do not go forward or what they need to go forward etc.

In final, you need to give them what they want and of course, it is your solution.

Remember, if you know a lot about your customer than you will know how much information to give and even how to educate them. You will build offer that stimulate them to buy.

It is all about how well you know your own audience. Moreover, knowing own product and selling it is the last part of business.
